And we’re off …
Over the next few weeks, the Challenge team will be reviewing the applications and determining the semi-finalists. Chosen semi-finalists will then be connected to the data sets they applied for and can begin their research. Here’s a quick snapshot
of next steps:

Interest in the Challenge has been phenomenal. We’ve seen support from many people and organizations to get the word out about this amazing opportunity to the data science community. Every effort to inform the world about the
power of data philanthropy is a step towards universal adoption and smarter solutions for global issues.

And the response from the data science community has been incredible. The Challenge received applications from 67 countries across the world that will generate a diverse array of ideas and data applications to broaden the way we approach climate solutions.

A very special “thank you” to everyone who has liked, shared and applied to the Challenge during this initial phase. This is only the beginning, and your support has been invaluable. Be sure to check back regularly for updates and the announcement of
the semi-finalists. We are excited about what the coming months will bring. Climate action needs our help. Now is the time. Data is the way. Please follow and contribute to the conversation with #D4CA and #DataMakesPossible
